Games Based Learning

Game-based learning has emerged as one of the most promising areas of innovation in making STEM topics more engaging for young people. There is also a growing body of research that highlights how making games fosters the development of critical 21st Century skills including systems thinking, problem solving, design and development processes and digital media literacy. A well-designed game is a well-designed system with a delicate balance of goals, constraints, challenges and rewards.

Academic research into “Digital Games based learning” started more than 15 years ago. Conclusions consistently champion the notion that gaming and interactivity properly integrated into the curriculum can have significant benefit for learning outcomes.

These pages will include what we feel are the most relevant and thought provoking.
